Hi there, I have just bought a new baseline Mac Mini, and I'm very happy with it. It's connected to my HDTV from Samsung, and I use it for gaming via emulators and watching movies via Plex. I haven't a mouse or keyboard connected, so I only access it via VNC/screen sharing from my Macbook Pro. BUT... I want to wake my Mac Mini from my Macbook. When it's asleep I only want to click on the VNC shortcut for the Mini to wake up. But it doesn't work. The VNC application just says 'connecting' and the Mac mini is still asleep. So, anyone know how I can get Wake on LAN to work? The Macbook and Mini are both connected to a Asus N66U wireless N-router. And I have made sure that I have enabled wake on LAN in the Mac Mini. Please help. EDIT: I managed to make it work via an experimental firmware in the N66U-router, so now I can enter the router interface and wake it from there. But what could I do to make the VNC request send an automatic Wake on LAN-packet? Is it even possible? Comments are closed.
